UPCT’s GIRTEL Group Showcases Innovative OBU Prototypes at TRANSFIERE 2026

The GIRTEL research group from the Technical University of Cartagena (UPCT) has presented its latest developments in On‑Board Unit (OBU) technology at TRANSFIERE 2026, Spain’s leading innovation and technology transfer forum.

Representing the group, José Santa highlighted recent advances in environmental monitoring and mobile‑connectivity measurement units designed for personal vehicles, mobile municipal equipment, and similar applications. These prototypes aim to support smart‑city services, improve urban mobility insights, and enable more accurate assessment of communication network performance across diverse real‑world scenarios.

During the event, three cutting‑edge OBU units were unveiled, each corresponding to progress achieved in major ongoing research projects:

• AEI WILLIOT (CNS2022‑136150)
